Overview

The Project section allows you to share and "spotlight" your work to the world through the Reuters Spotlight service. The Spotlight project environment provides a method of presenting what you have built for others to use, comment, rate and share your work; this can include demonstrations, screen shots and links to downloading your code. Submitting a project through Spotlight allows you to maintain control of your work by hosting on your own site, but provides community and potentially large user base to link from Reuters to your site and the services you have built.

Creating a Project

In presenting your project on Spotlight, it is advised that you present you project in the best possibly light by writing a detailed description with clear instructions of use. It is also advised you use the code formatting and highlighting features, screen shots and demos to provide a rich account of your work to possible users.

1. Sign in to your Spotlight account using you user name and password. If you do not have an account, please register here
2. Select the "Create Project" from the navigation menu.
3. Enter your project details into the form provided, which includes name, description, screen shots and link to demonstrations among other things. You can use the code formatting and highlighting feature to help improve the presentation of your project.
4. Preview your Project details entry by selecting the "Preview" button.
5. Once you are happy with you Project entry submit the project by selecting the "Submit" button.

Editing a Project

As the owner of your project you can easily edit your project details to update, remove or add more information to it.

1. Sign in to your Spotlight account using you username and password.
2. Select your project from the list and choose the "Edit" tab and edit you projects details.
3. Preview your Project details entry by selecting the "Preview" button.
4. Once you are happy with you project entry submit the project by selecting the "Submit" button.

Deleting a Project

If you would like to remove your public Spotlight project for any reason, you can do using the following steps.

1. Sign in to your Spotlight account using you username and password.
2. Select your project from the list and choose the "Edit" tab.
3. Delete your project entry by selecting the "Delete" button.
