Getting Started

Once again spotlight is not working. This time there is nothing coming in via
the feeds rather than only old news. None of the demo pages are working and even the Feeds link does nothing.

Other ongoing unresolved issues:

1. Still no spotlight status page
2. Still no new forums or permission to create forum topics

BTW, the WYSIWYG editor on this page doesn't work either.
I have to use "disable rich-text" to be able to edit because of horrendously bad word-wrap.

I was successfully getting spotlight news for a couple of weeks but yesterday

all feeds stopped working?

Gallery, that the most recent news is from Nov 13, 2008.

Can we expect the feeds to be working again soon?

I'm looking for the best way to get captions for the images that are inside the news feeds.  I have tried cachign the images in the photo feed, but it seems like that rarely match the images that are appearing in the articles.  Could the caption be included with the image in the article feed, or maybe a web service could be created that we could use to get the caption for a specific image (or array of images to get all the image in an article at once)?  A simple REST service where we pass picture ids could handle this quite easily I would think.

I am using the feeds page to create a feed string but regardless of what combination I use I get an error when I click "Go".

I read through the handbook and thought I ubderstood the process, what am I missing??

As the olympics approach I would like to include the relevant news in my website by am having a hard time finding the appropriate feed. There are several feeds on the topic but only one in english (at least that I found): http://spotlight.reuters.com/api/feed/cnt/channelarticles/olympicsNews/m.... The newest article in this feed is June 12, however in the equivalent feed in chinese, the newest article article is from today (Aug 2). Will the english feed be more current once the games get closer, or are english speakers out of luck?

The links that detail the following parameters all seem to be broken:

format http://spotlight.reuters.com/feeds/appendix#format
It would be helpful to see the available options, otherwise I can't really get beyond the example call.
